Leeds band Mush make their return in 2021 with a new single titled 'Seven Trumpets', taken from their forthcoming album 'Lines Redacted' out February 12th on the Memphis Industries imprint. The production, whilst seemingly stripped back on surface, is actually quite textured with sporadic instrumentation change-ups giving the song a nice touch.
Let's face it, every December the Christmas songs come pouring in, with many of them being just plain cheesy. However, Manchester band PINS have decided to contribute to the Xmas list of tunes by actually doing a cover version of the Ramone's 'Merry Christmas (I Don't Want To Fight Tonight)', originally taken from their 1989 LP 'Brain Drain'.
In celebration of the 40th Anniversary of The Clash's 'Sandinista!' album, released on December 12th 1980, their song 'The Magnificent Seven' has been given an official video treatment. Directed by Don Letts, there are clips of The Clash's performance on Tom Snyder's The Tomorrow Show. There is also footage from the band's residency at Bond’s International Casino in New York City which ran between May and June of 81.
London's Exit Kid, the duo comprised of Years & Years member Emre Turkmen and drummer Dylan Bell, have released their new EP 'Garden'. Comprised of 5 songs in total, musically the band incorporate a multitude of sounds including punk, grunge, indie and dashes of pop. Having already shared the tracks 'Hell In A Handcart' and 'Bleary Eyed', the EP's mood is partially a result of the past lockdown, the time in which the EP was written.

A hyper shot of post-punk, twisting melodies wrap around firey guitar riffs and hammering drums. The change-ups in the production are wonderful additions, making the song a rollercoaster ride of a listen that you never want to end.

Amsterdam trio Rex have unveiled their latest single 'Dm' featuring Silia Hollestelle. With the content of the track revolving around a man having to make a choice to be with a lost lover by venturing over to the side of death, musically the post-punk cut is driven by a sinister bass line, spiky guitar riffs and vocal trade-offs by Silia Hollestelle and Rex frontman Jonathan Rex.
Los Angeles band Death Valley Girls are gearing up for the release of their new album 'Under the Spell of Joy', landing Oct 2nd on Suicide Squeeze Records. The LP is the follow-up to their 2018 record 'Darkness Rains'. Having shared the single 'The Universe' back in July, Death Valley Girls have now unveiled their latest cut 'Hold My Hand'.
