The Soft Moon Returns with ‘Him’ featuring fish narc

It’s been four years since Luis Vasquez released an Criminal album under his moniker The Soft Moon. While he did drop his Body Of Errors LP which was released under his birth name back in 2021, Vasquez will finally bring forth a follow-up to Criminal on September 23rd. Exister is title of the forthcoming record by The Soft Moon which will land via Sacred Bones Records.

Considered to be a therapeutic recording, Exister finds Vasquez confronting his demons although enjoying a new since of freedom since relocating back to his native California from Berlin.

To coincide with the announcement, The Soft Moon has also unveiled a new single and video titled ‘Him’ which features fish narc. With the track itself being a racing shot of post-punk and industrial, the manic visuals come courtesy of directors Wiggy and Nick Blanco.

Touching on the single, Luis Vasquez mentioned:

“I struggle with ‘good side/bad side’ endlessly. ‘Him’ recounts that battle, expressing the turmoil it brings into my life.”

In regards to the video, he added:

“I am persistently running away from something devilish on my shoulders tempting me into mischievous behavior portrayed by fish narc.”
