For those who may remember watching recorded television shows on a VCR, Toronto band For Esmé deliver a nostalgic video for their single 'Make A Sound'. Shot as if it were a late night T.V. performance from the late 70s - early 80s, the visuals are equipped with the old school tape glitches and the whole nine. This is a great vid to an already hot song. 'Make A Sound' is directed by Puncture Design.
Toronto singer Mieke is the latest pop act set to blow in 2016. Releasing her self-titled EP last year, one of the highlight cuts on the record is the alt-pop tune 'Move On'. Never the less, Mieke is a talent who we're definitely excited about and look forward to seeing the trail that she will blaze in 2016. Have a listen.
Having released a batch of killer tracks over the past five years on labels such as Leftroom and ViVa, Toronto producer Sean Miller drops his latest 'Can't Stop' EP on Knee Deep In Sound. Championed by BBC Radio 1's Annie Mac, the title track is a no-frills, bonafide house anthem rich with crisp vocal snippets and a groove that is so infectious, you'll wish the length of the track was extended by another 10 minutes! Miller's cut 'Club Life' takes a more cheeky twist with the drums doing much of the work to enforce one to sweat it out on the floor. Have a listen to Sean Miller's 'Can't Stop' down at the bottom and then make sure you buy this pronto.
Pop star Grimes delivers futuristic and odd (to say the least) visuals for the official video to 'Kill V. Maim'. What can be described as a dark underground goth party, similar to the opening scenes in the movie 'Blade', Grimes dance along with her girl gang in a subway station, while in other clips they drive around in a pink, rocketing vehicle. 'Kill V. Maim' is taken from her latest LP 'Art Angels'. Have a look.
