Brooklyn-based duo The Casual Sexists are slated to drop their debut album Your Prescription Is Ready this year.
To coincide with the news, The Casual Sexists have unveiled their latest single ‘Fresh Legs’ which follows their previously released track ‘My Heartbeat Keeps Me Awake’. An utterly grooving taste of dance punk, the pulsing tune is an ode to the dance floor and a shot at those sex thirsty people who don’t actually have the moves or rhythm to jump in the dance arena in its purest sense.
Regarding the track, The Casual Sexists said;
“The dancefloor is a complex arena. A place of communality, loneliness, euphoria, release, awkwardness, freedom, violence, transcendence, collapse. Above all though, it’s a place where self-expression should thrive, unchallenged.
For some, however, the freedom of the dancefloor means something a bit different. The freedom to infiltrate personal space at will, to clumsily clutch, to slur asinine bullshit in your ear whilst you’re trying to seize the night.
‘Fresh Legs’ is an acidic kiss-off to those ham-footed fuckboys who will never have the moves, for whom the dancefloor is a conduit to one-sided non-sex, a playground for deflated desires. It’s an anthem for the lone mover, the soundtrack to dancing those pestilent leeches into a corner and leaving them there.”
