London-based singer, actress, writer, producer, and performer Sukie Smith is a one woman powerhouse whose CV is extensive. Amongst releasing three widely praised studio LPs with her band Madam, her acting credits include the films A Summer Story, The Witches, Topsy-Turvy, Lawless Heart, and more. Smith has appeared in multiple television series including CASUAL+Y, EastEnders, Doctors, Peak Practice, and the list continues. She has graced the stages of the Royal Court, as well as West Yorkshire Playhouse, not to mention has exhibited at the Tate Britain. The multi-disciplinarian has also composed soundtrack for Tom Tyrwhitt’s award-winning film Hush Your Mouth. Whilst those accomplishments in itself are immense, Sukie Smith still found time to collaborate with music legend Tricky for his track ‘Hell is Round the Corner – Reincarnated’, contribute to the art magazine The Lab Mag, and even hosted the SOUNDVISION radio show which ran on Soho Radio. With a work ethic that is almost beyond comprehendible, and a creative juice that never dries, Sukie Smith is an absolute heroine of the arts in all its reaches.
Sukie Smith released her new album The Glass Dress and a Ringing Bell back in March of this year. The ten-track LP is an amalgamation of dark pop, cinematic rock, electronica, and more. A moody, beautiful work, the record is a further extension branch of Smith’s already firmly rooted artistic tree.
