Copenhagen based producer Albert has recently released his “Lucky” EP on the Studio Rockers label. Featuring Scandanavian singer Anna Lena, the title track displays Albert’s brilliant use Hip-Hop inspired beats underneath beautiful yet hazy electronica topped with Anna Lena’s vocals allowing room for a pop asthetic. “Drippin The Who” with Papa Jawal is a digital dancehall piece that sits comfortably on the mellow end of the spectrum rather than the usual “jump up” that tends to be common place among this particular sound. Albert finishes the EP with “Sustain”, a tune that falls closer to the earlier South London garage/dubstep sound making it pleasurable in this present overabundant period of ‘wobbles’. Overall “Lucky” proves to be a wonder blend of seemingly the best parts of electronica and beat culture all stirred into a highly enjoyable record.
