Wire Make Their Return with ‘Short Elevated Period’

Some of the top rock bands spanning the past thirties years will openly mentioned that they were inspired by Wire. Having played an integral part in the development of post-punk, the group is currently celebrating 40 years since their first performance. This is also manifested with the release of their fifteenth studio album Silver/Lead, scheduled to land March 31 via pinkflag. Kicking off the upcoming LP is their latest single ‘Short Elevated Period’. Pushed by revving guitars, the song grabs bits of golden era punk whilst simultaneously keeping the sound up to the modern times with no intentions on being a throwback piece. You can stream the tune down below.

Silver/Lead track list:

1. Playing Harp For The Fishes
2. Short Elevated Period
3. Diamonds in Cups
4. Forever & A Day
5. An Alibi
6. Sonic Lens
7. This Time
8. Brio
9. Sleep On The Wing
10. Silver/Lead
