The Paranoyds Return with Their New ‘Late Nighter’ EP

Los Angeles band The Paranoyds make their return after a three year hiatus with a new EP titled Late Nighter. Produced by none other than Jamie Hince of The Kills, the new record is out on Jack White’s Third Man Records.

Comprised of four songs, the EP has a nostalgia of 70s punk, incorporating raw instrumentation with sing-along pop melodies that give the songs a really nice touch. There is still some of the garage rock style that The Paranoyds have built their name on injected throughout the record, however the punk strums are the charging leads, which makes for one really good release from the L.A. outfit.

Regarding the EP, The Paranoyds said:

“We didn’t know it at the time, but it all started with a vanity plate: L8 NYTR. Then there was the tour with the Kills, the two most genuine people and authentic rockers we might have ever crossed paths with. We spent most of August going to Jamie’s home studio with the goal of writing a song a day. We eventually recorded our demos with him later that November. daylight savings comes in, and it gets dark so early–perhaps the depth and grit that our summertime demos needed? We would leave the sessions and come back the next day to find that Jamie had worked total studio magic on the tracks after we left. he was our late nighter, el capitán, guiding everything to exactly where it needed to be.
