Making their debut last year with the EP ‘Playing Dead’, Bristol band The Desert are prepping for the release of their sophomore EP coming early next year. Giving fans and critics a taste of what’s to come, the group have shared their new single ‘Gone’. Moody with a hauntingly cinematic feel, their is an air of melancholy swirling around the production as singer Gina Leonard’s smokey vocals help to create a chilling yet beautiful experience.

Regarding the single, The Desert stated:

“’Gone’ is about losing something or someone abruptly and how that can make you go a bit crazy. Gina’s voice is quite hoarse in the recording, which helps convey the desperation& frustration. There’s also a kind of excitement in that ‘fuck it’ feeling. The track is overall more positive than negative with each chorus ending ‘but I’ll find somewhere to put it.”
