Eva Shaw is the very embodiment of the word multifaceted. A producer, songwriter, DJ and label boss, her ear for crafting hit records without compromising her creativity or integrity has allowed her to not only churn out massive songs as a solo artist, but has also given her the opportunity to work with some of the biggest names in music...period. Although storming the dance and electronica circuits with 'Charizma' and 'Space Jungle', Eva Shaw demonstrated that she was equally as fierce when it came to Hip-Hop production, crafting pure, unadulterated bangers.

Toronto band TeenANGER step forth with their latest single 'Trillium Song', taken from their upcoming LP 'Good Time', out October 2nd on Telephone Explosion Records. Treading between the sounds of post-punk, no wave and art pop, the tune launches with a funky bass line before slinky guitar lines are incorporated. The spirited chorus of the track adds a different texture with 'Trillium Song' earthed from the lineage of Talking Heads. We have a stream of the cut below.
Toronto singer DYLYN has returned with a new single entitled 'Call Me What You Want'. A fiery rock & roll bit packed with attitude, DYLYN is explosive over the power driving production, as revving guitar riffs lash underneath.
Two weeks ago we thought that The Weeknd had concluded his stream of videos for 'After Hours' which all added up to one big story revolving around the masquerade of success, addiction and love. The vid for 'In Your Eyes' found the Toronto crooner chasing a woman with a knife, which ultimately ended up with him getting his head chopped off his head off by an axe.
With his latest album 'After Hours' having reached Number 1, The Weeknd has unveiled another video, this time for the song 'In Your Eyes'. This is actually the continuation to his previous 'After Hours' short film, in which the 'In Your Eyes' picks up from the elevator scene. Going all Jason style with a butcher knife from 'Friday the 13th', The Weeknd has clearly chopped up the male counterpart to the female (played by Zaina Miuccia) in the elevator. She then runs out in the street trying to get away from the R&B crooner before ending up in a nightclub. What has become a full blown horror short, Miuccia ends up getting her revenge towards the end. Check it out.
At this point, though there is still the anticipation for The Weeknd's forthcoming LP 'After Hours', which is out March 20th, even more excitement seems to have been generated by his acting in his previous videos. The Weeknd continues to highlight that side of himself in this new 'After Hours' short film. Directed by Anton Tammi, what you have here is the Toronto crooner pretending to be happy whilst in front of an audience, but as soon as he walks off stage the joy is rapidly transformed into sadness and a depressive state. Seemingly still battling demons, the real horror start once he's in an elevator with two other people. You'll just have to stay tuned for continued visuals. Have a look.
Canadian singer Alexandria Maillot released her impressive sophomore LP 'Benevolence' last year. One of the highlight songs on the album was the track 'Someone to Keep You Warm'. She now unveils the official video to the cut. Directed by Brendan Taylor, the story revolves around a guy who can't sleep and begins to suffer from that feeling of being alone to the point of hallucination. Having continuous visions of two women frantically dancing around him, paranoia forces him to run outside with fear.
Having unveiled her song 'Mistress Of The World' a week ago, Toronto singer Tyra Jutai now brings forth her latest track 'Nudes'. Whilst the previous tune definitely had a darker edge to it, 'Nudes' is brighter with sparkling production coinciding with Jutai's distinct vocals.
