Let's face it, every December the Christmas songs come pouring in, with many of them being just plain cheesy. However, Manchester band PINS have decided to contribute to the Xmas list of tunes by actually doing a cover version of the Ramone's 'Merry Christmas (I Don't Want To Fight Tonight)', originally taken from their 1989 LP 'Brain Drain'.
Combine punchy alternative, whirling punk, early post-punk and a bit of grunge and what you get is the sound of Manchester's Dead Cherry. Having made their debut a couple months back with the track 'Every Sale Is The Same', the trio have now unveiled their latest EP 'C.R.E.E.P.'. The 3-song release is a roller coaster ride of thundering sonics that teeters between the classicism of early tunes by The Fall to stadium chanting harder rock.
Manchester artist Abbie Ozard has delivered the music video to her single 'TV Kween'. Directed by Charlotte Rudd, the visuals find Ozard transitioning from lounging around a trailer home to putting on a ballerina's dress and a crown, continuing on to dance about and perform around the place.
Manchester-based trio The Blinders are scheduled to release their new album 'Fantasies Of A Stay At Home Psychopath' on July 17th via the Modern Sky UK label. Having already shared a number of singles from the upcoming LP including the song 'Mule Track' about a month ago, the band now unveil their latest track titled 'Black Glass'. Running a little over six minutes in length, the haunting tune is laced with punchy and dystopian production as the lyrical content deals with a deranged person who is locked in his home whilst trying to ration his actions and mind state, convincing himself of its normality. The Blinders have also shared a visualiser to coincide with the single, which you can watch below.
With their latest album 'Hot Slick' currently out now, Manchester band PINS bring forth more remixes to their single 'Ghosting'. Multimedia collective Dismembered Sound Booth have actually created three remakes out of the four new editions.
Having released their EP 'safeplace.' back in 2019, Manchester-based group Hayes & Y make their return with their latest single 'All Pressure/No Pleasure'. Manchester's MNRØ steps up with a stern and unapologetic track titled 'I'm Not Running to You'. Produced by BNJI, the song is a synth-firing pop offering that finds MNRØ refusing to run back to someone who isn't treating her at the highest of standards and only calling for sexual encounters. Executing a defiance in delivery coupled with the bouncy, tropical rhythm, MNRØ shows and proves that she is definitely a star in the making. We're excited to hear what's coming down the pipeline for this promising artist. Have a listen.
