Manchester's Whyte Horses effortlessly tapped into a 60s pop meets 70s grit funk realm with their single 'The Best Of It' featuring La Roux. Now the track gets a punchy additive with the Casino mix. While keeping the core structure of the instrumentation from the original version, this new working kicks with harder drum swings giving it a bit more weight. The original song is taken from Whyte Horses' latest album 'Empty Words', out now via CRC Records.
The Whyte Horses will release their second album 'Empty Words' on March 9th via CRC Records. One of the songs taken from the new record is this cover version of Thorinshield's 1968 tune 'The Best Of It'. Enlisting none other than La Roux to provide the vocals, the song is lush journey through raw psych, pop and even a slab of northern soul. Still maintaining somewhat of a 60s sound, the band have managed to give it a modern twist that bridges the gap between the past and present. You can stream 'The Best Of It' down below.
