Brooklyn-based duo Parrot Dream step forth with their latest cut 'Red Circle'. The slow burning dream pop tune plays with an air of darkness as dizzying guitar lines accompany the moody bass line, all topped with singer Christina Appel's floating vocals.
Having worked with the likes of ILoveMakonnen as well as studied under music legend Rick Rubin, Brooklyn artist Bayli has dropped her latest track entitled '16'. Paying homage to the journey of her mother, the track is a sleek and sophisticated blend of pop and R&B bursting with ear-catching melodies as well as clever songwriting that commands the listener to go on Bayli's heartfelt ride.
Brooklyn-based duo The Casual Sexists are slated to drop their debut album 'Your Prescription Is Ready' this year. To coincide with the news, The Casual Sexists have unveiled their latest single 'Fresh Legs' which follows their previously released track 'My Heartbeat Keeps Me Awake'.
Brooklyn band Miranda and The Beat step into the spirit of Halloween with their latest single 'Mr. Monster' featuring Obash of Bipolar, which is out via Third Man Records. Musically incorporating 60s souls, garage, surf and psychedelic, there is also that classic element of storytelling within the lyrics that foster a certain nostalgia from previous eras including late 70s punk and the golden age of folk.
Whenever Killer Mike and El-P aka Run The Jewels drop anything it's always a good day. Having previously shared the track 'Ooh LA LA' featuring Nice & Smooth's Greg Nice and Hip-Hop production king DJ Premiere, RTJ have now dropped the official video. The visuals are legendary in themselves considering that not only is this one big street party what appears to be a celebration of the ending of capitalism, but you can also catch a cameo by the one and only Zack De La Rocha. Factor in Greg Nice and Preemo also appearing in the video as well as a whole heap of people dancing, this is possibly what it may look like when the coronavirus lock down is finally over! 'Ooh LA LA' is directed by Brian and Vanessa Beletic, with El-P being the co-creative.
Philly producer Marshmello and Atlanta's trap king Southside come together for the song and video 'Been Thru This Before'. If the collab wasn't enough, they also enlisted the landlord himself, London rapper Giggs and Brooklyn's SAINt JHN to add their vocal touches to the bass-shaking tune. The video is directed by Myles Whittingham and features SAINt JHN and Giggs outside a cabin in the woods whilst surrounded by beautiful women. There is a scene where some of the women are stirring some weird green concoction, perhaps some elixir of sorts. Never the less you can peep the vid down at the bottom.
Having toured with Cat Power last year not to mention dropping her 2019 singles 'Earlier Days' and 'Noise', NYC-based artist Zsela has returned with a new track titled 'For Now'. For this offering Zsela delivers a slow, mood-driven electronic meets R&B stir as she gracefully glides over the intimate rhythm with sultry vocal work.
Over the past few months Brooklyn rapper and singer SAINt JHN has been releasing what he calls 'one take' videos for tracks taken from his 2019 LP 'Ghetto Lenny's Love Songs'. Basically, the team literally film each vid in one take and release them. With that being said, the visuals aren't shabby at all. In fact, they're quite good. For his latest one take, SAINt JHN has dropped a video for the Imanbek remix of his song 'Roses'. You can find the artist driving around in a truck full of girls dancing to the track, even though technically they're actually in front of a green screen. Never the less, the tune is a banger and the graphics for the flashing lyrics are really amazing. Have a look.
Danny Brown joins forces with Run The Jewels for the song and video '3 Tearz'. Directed by Colin Read and filmed in a warehouse in Brooklyn, the visuals feature the three emcees taking back on some raw Hip-Hop vibe, simply spraying bars on a mic in a circle of people who are holding up video cameras and smoking weed!
