Birmingham producer Preditah revisits the sound of bassline, which is synonymous with The Midlands, for his remix of Skepta’s “Shutdown”.

The musical style of bassline, which originated from speed garage, made a resurgence in the mid-2000s, yet as a scene began to decline a few years later, as sub-genres such as UK Funky rapidly gained popularity around that time period. Hopefully Preditah’s remix is an indication that the sound may once again garnish a breath of life.
