Brighton band Squid have been on the mouths of music critics and fans alike for the past few years. With their 2019 EP Town Centre released to critical praises, the group are now gearing up for the release of their debut album Bright Green Field, out May 7th on Warp Records.

To coincide with the album news, Squid have also shared their new single titled ‘Paddling’. Running over six minutes in length, the first minute in itself acts as a build up. Sonically the band brilliantly fuse post-punk with aspects of psychedelic and krautrock, as slinky guitar riffs are off set by a skittering bass line and screams of “don’t pushe me in” by vocalist Ollie Judge. The production slowly morphs into that of something rich and full, making this one exciting listening experience. Below is a visualizer of ‘Paddling’ hat you can check it out.
