Canadian band Slow Down Molasses step forth with their latest single ‘Street Haunting’. The track marks their return since releasing their LP 100% Sunshine back in 2016. For this offering, the band punch with a shot of edgy post-punk, 80s new wave and an element of noise all in one fine stir. Built on a towering bassline, slicing guitar riffs, power-hitting drumming, distortion and more, ‘Street Haunting’ is a glorious trek through past post-punk periods whilst moving the sound forward.
Touching on the track Slow Down Molasses’ Tyson McShane mentioned:
“The song ruminates on the casual, but oft-underappreciated beauty of the urban environment and the predictability of a person’s daily tasks… A place sometimes overflowing with creative energy, but where it often necessary to remind oneself of the casual brilliance of one’s peers and the places we typically tend to haunt.”
