NYC collective Psymon Spine dropped their Charismatic Megafauna album back in 2021. As we continue to move into 2022, the group have now announced the release of their forthcoming remix LP Charismatic Mutations, slated to drop April 1st on Northern Spy Records. The record will include reworks by Love Injection, Each Other, and Safer just to name a few.

One big highlight taken from Charismatic Mutations is this big remix of Milk featuring Barrie, courtesy of none other than Joe Goddard. Musically there is an air of nostalgia with Goddard opting for more of a deep, 90s electronic chill-out sound that was popular throughout the rave days of old. For those who remember the chill-out rooms from back then, this will surely spark certain memories.

Regarding the remix, Joe Goddard said:

“This remix was very natural and very joyful for me. I did it in lockdown so I felt a sense of freedom and playfulness that was really nice and actually, in retrospect, very unique. I love the vocals on this song, so I placed them at the forefront, and I tried to sonically make the mix one that was balearic and satisfying. Macrodosing.”
