Mike Skinner gives away new Cyberspace and Reds mixtape to iPhone users

Mike Skinner aka The Streets is up to his cheeky ways again, this time with the release of his new mixtape titled “Cyberspace and Reds”. While the mixtape is a free download, it is only available for iPhone users. As stated by Mike Skinner on is website, to receive the mixtape, first download the Mike Skinner iPhone app and then scan the barcode from a tin can of soup (no, really) via the-streets.co.uk. While this clearly seems like more of a hassle than it is worth, this episode does test the “act of love” of music amongst fans and their willingness to actually get the mixtape opposed to just providing a download link.
Mike Skinner made his music debut with the album “Original Pirate Material” in 2002, which showcased the UK Garage and Grime sound of England at the time. Skinner’s 2004 second release “A Grand Come For Free” allowed for a wider range of success as it featured the song “Blinded By The Lights” followed by “The Hardest Way To Make An Easy Living” released in 2006 and “Everything Is Borrowed” which was released in 2008.
