Loose Articles ‘Kick Like a Girl’ Video

Manchester’s Loose Articles take shots at misogynistic chants with their latest single and video ‘Kick Like a Girl’. With the motive of taking the slur and shining a light on the deep insult of its root, the vid for the song features the band going hard in a pub before taking it to the football field for a game against a few guys. ‘Kick Like a Girl’ is directed by Danny Orwin and Lewis Holgate.

And for the record, before anyone starts letting off with the critical comments, Loose Articles’ drummer Louise Rivett has actually played for Linby Colliery Welfare Ladies FC for over 10 years. The group themselves are lovers of the game in general.

‘Kick Like a Girl’ is taken from Loose Articles’ forthcoming EP Chaos, landing later this year on Alcopop! Records.

Touching on the track, Loose Articles singer Natalie Wardle mentioned:

“‘Kick Like A Girl’ tackles the narrow mindset of some men towards women and football, as well as a sprinkle of footballing references ranging from Duncan Furguson to Beckham’s Mohican. With our music we like to raise awareness on issues like misogynistic slurs and attitudes towards women in sports. With this said we still make the tunes fun and comical to grab the attention of people first, before they then realise the tune is making more of a statement on a deeper subject.”
