Listen to The Union Pool’s “Time & Space”

Comprised of duo Joel Laslett Pott and Matthew Tomkins is the London band The Union Pool. The multi-instrumentalists sit in an interesting position in that, they really can’t be placed in any specific category. This is also what’s intriguing about the group. Their track “Time & Space” is a brilliant example of their almost genre-less sound. Sure there is the synth-driven electronic aspect of their sound, yet there is also a placement of indie-pop, not to mention the broken-beat drum patterns that enriche the song, yet completely lifts it out of the previous styles mentioned. Warm and vibrant, there is an infectious catchiness to “Time & Space” that provokes a feel good emotion, irrelevant of what you choose to label it as. The track is taken from The Union Pool’s forthcoming EP “The Number 4”, landing October 6th on Tape Club Records.
