Amsterdam-based band Rex have stepped up with their new song ‘Palaces’, a dark alternative cut infused with post-punk undertones. Launching the track with an eerie bass line, remaining minimal until a little after the one minute mark before the drums kick in, the stern vocals of front man Jonathan Rex add to the commanding feel. Touching on the topic of losing someone dear, ‘Palaces’ is a haunting yet stunningly intriguing release from the talented trio.

Regarding the single, Rex stated:

“The song embraces the sorrow of loss, and powerless felt when you lose someone close to you. It raises the questions of how to continue on with life and survive without them.”
