London-based DJ and producer object blue has shared her third EP FIGURE BESIDE ME. Comprised of the two tracks ‘ECSTASY OF SAINT TERESA’ and ‘FUCK THE STASIS’, the record is a journey into experimental electronica constructed of jittery samples and twisted effects, with object blue still finding a way to slide in hypnotic drum programming to keep a groove. In a press statement regarding the EP, object blue wrote:

“I usually don’t write about feelings or experiences; my music is not a vehicle for ideas and language; music is an art form that stands on its own. I put sounds there for the sake of sound, not what they mean. I’m perfectly fine with listeners feeling their own emotions or adding their narratives to my music, but that has never been my goal. Music and sound for me is a physical experience that you feel and enjoy. figure beside me is the exception to the rule. After this EP I’ll go back to serving the dance floor again – I just need to get this one out of me.”
