Liz Cooper has unveiled her new single ‘Getting Closer’ which is taken from her new LP Hot Sass, out September 3rd on Thirty Tigers Records. The song follows her previously released cut ‘Slices of Life’.

Written with Michael Nau, who also provides backing vocals on the song, ‘Getting Closer’ sways with bouncy drums, stabbing keys and Cooper’s jazzy vocal delivery that all add up to one a sunny package. A hypnotic and ear-catching record, you can stream ‘Getting Closer’ below.

Touching on the track, Liz Cooper mentioned:

“‘Getting Closer’ is the first of a small batch of songs that I had the honor of writing with my friend Michael Nau. I met up with him under a picnic pavilion in the woods nestled away right off of the highway in Eastern Maryland. A really intense rainstorm passed through us all of a sudden, allowing simple yet complicated feelings to fall into words and into a song and memory that I love very much.
