Detroit-born, Vancouver-based singer and musician Khari Wendell McClelland delivers a piece of history with his forthcoming album Freedom Singer, out April 27th. Delving into the journey of his great-great-great grandmother Kizzy who made the trek from the United States to Canada in the 1800s, the LP is a collection of songs that represent that time period and the possible accompaniment throughout her travel. Co-produced with John Raham, Khari Wendell McClelland blends various musical styles to create one powerful and masterful record. You can stream Freedom Singer below.
