J. Cole has released a mixtape dubbed Birthday Blizzard ’26 hosted by none other than NYC’s own DJ Clue. More like an EP, the project comes ahead of his long-awaited album The Fall Off, which is set to land September 6th.
The mixtape consists of 4 freestyles which finds Cole rhyming over classic Hip-Hop tracks such as The Lox’s ‘Money, Power & Respect’, and Biggie’s ‘Who Shot Ya’, just to name a few. For those who were around in the 90s may remember these songs standing prominent on Clue’s mixtapes, which is J. Cole’s way of paying homage to that era, as well as getting back to the period where lyrics mattered. Of course many fans and critics alike will probably be combing the North Carolina native’s bars for anything even remotely touching on the Kendrick Lamar and Drake battle.
