In the new age of technology, everything seems to be moving at warp speed. Listening to music can at times feel like being trapped in a barrage of circuitry with no escapism in sight. However, one can shy away from this digital fate or embrace it. Amsterdam born emcee Dio chooses to welcome it with computer love. The new collaboration between Dio and Reverse properly titled “Computer Liefde” sounds just as the title suggests. Walking between lines of digital Hip-Hop combined with an almost bastardized dubstep-ish sound, twisted tech and 4×4, “Computer Liefde” is an almost near perfect soundtrack to the future sound of music. There is no need to think that a web of digital noises completely smothers this EP, tracks such as “Welkom” is laced with beautifully filled piano playing with harmonies gracing its plain. Even the “Outrolude” sounds more like an uptempo fixed ballad. Hopefully Dio & Reverse will transform this experience into a full length album.
