Back in 2022 Watford artist Connie Constance released her sophomore album Miss Power. A musical collage of sounds ranging from indie rock to pop, the record demonstrated the rising singer’s ability to glide through a multitude of rhythms whilst roping everything together with a fierceness and talent that are undeniable.

Connie Constance has now shared her latest single’Kamikaze’ which features Sleaford Mods’ Jason Williamson. oOe of the highlight tracks on Miss Power, the tune is a revving, in your face blow of punk and indie that is insanely energetic, the content rages against the stereotypical and misogynist view of women when it comes to beauty and presentation.

Regarding the single, Connie Constance said:

“It’s about the western beauty standard women are expected to uphold especially those in the media eye. And also the idea that we’re all meant to have it together all the time. It’s talking about Amy Winehouse and more recently Caroline Flack and how they were treated by the media instead of cared for in a time of need.”

Jason Williamson added:

“I love Connie’s energy and message in this track. Although the initial concept was for me to come in as an additional voice from her perspective, i felt it was disingenuous to present myself as someone with first-hand experience of the patriarchy, so I came at it from the other angle: the male counter, the gatekeeper. The tunes banging, I love it.”
