Having spent the past 5 years trekking the world with superstar Orville Peck as a member of his band, not to mention her extensive work with her band FRIGS, as well as dropping her own releases under her moniker BRIA, Canada’s Bria Salmena has now unveiled her new single ‘Bending Over Backwards’. Making this the first offering under her full name, the track is currently out via Sub Pop.

Produced by long time music collaborator Duncan Hay Jennings, ‘Bending Over Backwards’ is a brilliantly crafted tune that blends the many sounds of Salmena’s experimental past including post-punk, indie, and even bits of spaghetti western. Her vocals are pristine and alluring, which adds that sweet icing on top of this overly tasty offering.

Touching on the track, Bria Salmena stated:

“It’s about some crazy life experiences that I’ve had in the past four years and the work that it takes to go into chaos and come out of it.”
