Blondage, the duo comprised of Pernille Smith-Sivertsen and Esben Nørskov Andersen, have made their return with a new song called ‘Phony’. This comes after a small hiatus from the Danish pair, who started a family, allowing for life to travel in a slightly different direction for them. Well Blondage are back in full swing as they will be releasing a slew of new material soon.

‘Phony’ is a subtle pop piece that is quite open in production. Filling the space with only a few sounds at a time, the tune eventually builds up with drums, and sizzling synths that really elevate the mood of the cut.

Regarding ‘Phony’, Pernille Smith-Sivertsen stated:

“Phony’ is a journey into the mind of someone who is lost in a spiral of over analyzing and constantly judging themselves. It’s a pendulum swinging between performed arrogance and suppressed self-loathing. It describes a zeitgeist where we worship ourselves as a new kind of God, while simultaneously being terrified of being exposed as completely ordinary and fallible human beings.”
