The Sacred Bones label will release a lost album by legendary artist Alan Vega. The LP entitled Mutator will land on April 23rd. What is the first in a series of archival recordings, the upcoming release was recorded with Liz Lamere, who along with Jared Artaud of The Vacant Lots, discovered the material in the vaults. Recorded between 1995 and 1996,the album was never released due to Vega concentrating on the next record before completing Mutator.
The first single taken from Mutator is the track ‘Nike Soldier’, which has also been given a video treatment. Directed by Jacqueline Castel, the visuals feature footage of Vega performing on stage weaved in-between clips of performer Kris Esfandiari dancing in front of a cross, intertwining the theme of death as well as resurrection.
