Aside from completely releasing his new album GNX out of the blue, which will more than likely get ranked amongst the top albums of the year, Kendrick Lamar now unleashes the video for his track ‘squabble up’. Fans got a snippet of the song when the L.A. emcee included it in the beginning of the ‘Not Like Us’ video.

Directed by Calmatic, the visuals which are filmed in one big room, brilliantly captures the essence of not only Los Angeles culture, but also the Bay Area. From replications of iconic album covers such as Ice-T’s Power to imagery reflecting California’s gang, dance, and music culture as a whole, ‘squabble up’ packs a heavy punch with the use of a minimalist palette, telling the most potent stories. Of course Kendrick Lamar is no stranger to dropping incredible videos so ‘squabble up’ falls right into he and Dave Free’s mission of creating high level, cinematic experiences.
