Minneapolis band Poliça follow-up their previous singles ‘Rotting’ and ‘Alive’ with a new track dubbed ‘Violence’, which is taken from their upcoming LP Madness, landing June 3 on Memphis Industries.
‘Violence’ is an eerie and claustrophobic slice of electronica meets indie. With the first leg of the song built on a haunting soundscape of smokey synths and effects, the 4×4 driving beat doesn’t come into the track until the 1 minute and 28 seconds mark. Moody and atmospheric, ‘Violence’ plays with a pulsing sense of urgency.
Regarding the single, Poliça mentioned:
“Along with the core members of the band, the new single ‘Violence’ brings on some of Poliça’s favorite collaborators like Velvet Negroni’s Jermey Nutzman, Boys Noize, Dustin Zahn, CJ Camererie and Aaron Baum to bring a slow-building dance-ish take on someone else’s problems.”
