Two weeks ago we thought that The Weeknd had concluded his stream of videos for After Hours which all added up to one big story revolving around the masquerade of success, addiction and love. The vid for ‘In Your Eyes’ found the Toronto crooner chasing a woman with a knife, which ultimately ended up with him getting his head chopped off his head off by an axe.
Well The Weekend aka Abel Tesfaye has given his song ‘Until I Bleed Out’ the visual treatment. The video appears to reflect aspects of The Weeknd’s past work stemming back to his mixtape ‘House of Balloons’ as well as his later work. From the faces of the women in the video to the various symbols throughout the set such as confetti and ballons, much of the imagery even take a nod at the old mixtape covers or older videos. Abel ends up collapsing on the floor, and then wakes up in another dimension dead on the ground, perhaps a representation of his dying past. Check it out.
