New York City-based pair Tempers have announced the release of their forthcoming album New Meaning. Slated to land April 1st on DAIS, the LP will also be accompanied by a book of collaged artwork and song lyrics created by Tempers singer Jasmine Golestaneh.

To coincide with the news, Tempers have also unveiled their new single ‘Unfamiliar’. A dreamy and atmospheric taste of upbeat synthpop, Jasmine Golestaneh’s surreal vocals sit comfortably atop dance-driven drum kicks, shimmering keys and lush, echoing guitar lines. Touching on the single, Jasmine Golestaneh mentioned:

“‘Unfamiliar’ explores the idea of progress, and what qualities might be needed to actualise it. So often change is just a rebranding of the same structures and conventions, history repeating itself. But also on a personal level, it’s hard not to repeat mistakes, habits are so seductive. I was thinking about the power of liminal space, and how building a tolerance to unfamiliarity might be a revolutionary act.”
