Rising Swedish singer Hildur Höglind has been releasing music for a number of years now, dropping songs ranging from indie folk to pop. With her latest single 'My Heart (Won't Skip The Beat That It Should)', Höglind musically ventures into future pop, using spacey production that oozes elements of synth funk. Cleverly incorporating folk-style vocals, the tune highlights the Scandinavian singer's constant evolution as an artist.
Previously known to the world as Hanna & Andrea, Swedish pair Hanna Larsson and Andrea Kallström rebranded themselves shortly after under the moniker lennixx, releasing their 'hapap' record in 2018. This year we saw a couple singles land from lennix which was the lead of to their new EP 'Split By'.
Tove Lo hits us with a new video, or should we say lyric video, entitled 'Glad He's Gone'. Now mind you, even though the lyrics do flash across the screen, you still have the Swedish-born singer comfortably dancing around in a denim jacket and underwear, whilst proudly shaking her bottom at the camera. There are also scenes of her groping a statue.
Stockholm band Sudakistan have released a monster of a single entitled 'Automation'. A flawless meshing of styles, the outfit blends together everything from alternative to new wave and disco. The upbeat, at times raging production is complimented by saucy vocals. With the lyrical content a sort of call to action of breaking away from that which controls you, 'Automation' is that musical roller coaster ride that you never want to end. The song is taken from 7" release which includes a Spanish cover version of The Stooges' 'I Wanna Be Your Dog'.
Swedish artist Ängie gets dark on her latest single 'Orgy Of Enemies' featuring Australia's Zheani. Using haunting and husky trap production as the underlay, Ängie delves into the times of being in a space of gloom, crying out how much she 'hates this place'. Whilst no stranger to bringing a dose of edge to pop music, 'Orgy Of Enemies' is her most intense track yet, teetering more on the side of Hip-Hop.
Stockholm-based Elin Blom of FELIN continues to bring forth an array of diverse sounds with her latest track 'Woman With A Knife'. With the production encompassing a blissful mixture of grand pop and indie, Blom completely commands the track with heroic vocals whilst succulent piano riffs interplay with swinging drums and tying guitar lines that make for another power-hitting release.
Stockholm duo Isabella Svärdstam and Niklas Lock aka Dream Lake have shares their latest single 'Someday'. The song comes after the lengthy break, with their last album 'Lux' released back in 2017. An airy taste of dream pop, the warming tune is peppered with gorgeous melodies, and easing instrumentation that is composed of ethereal synths, tender guitar riffs and added electronic sparkles, creating the ultimate sooth. Whilst there has been no mention of an album yet, hopefully this will be an indication of a new record coming soon.
Stockholm pop sensation Molly Hammar makes her return with her latest track 'No Place Like Me' featuring none other than grime vet Big Narstie.
