Croydon producer Skream continues to foster various styles of electronica, this time meshing together 80s synthwave, disco and modern techno for his latest single 'Song For Olivia'. A dedication track to his daughter, glistening synth spreads line the tune, as upbeat kicks aided by cowbells provide a dance friendly groove.
It now feels eras and eras away from the days of when the sound of dubstep emerged from a small circle of DJs and producers in Croydon to overtaking the music industry, to that literally falling a steep drop. Whilst Skream was one of the artist who helped pushed the music to elevated heights, the South London producer also knew when to change course at the right time, delving into sounds such as disco, house and more.
