Jenny Hval Shares Her Latest Track ‘Conceptual Romance’

Art and music are one in the same for Oslo's Jenny Hval. Having released avant garde solo records now for a decade, she continues to erase any lines of genre, allowing for a bigger and more spacious palette to freely create without boundaries or restrictions. On September 30th, Hval will drop her sixth LP 'BLOOD BITCH' on the Sacred Bones imprint. Delivering the first single taken from the album entitled 'Female Vampire', she now gives a taste of the second offering called 'Conceptual Romance'. Dreamy in sound yet still unorthodox in production, the warming aesthetic is graced with high, floating vocals.

Jenny Hval ‘Female Vampire’ Video

Jenny Hval has always been one to walk her own beat creatively. With a new album on the way entitled 'Blood Bitch', the Norwegian artist taps into a sort of 70s horror aesthetic with her latest video 'Female Vampire'. What appears to be a sort of ritual in which Hval and a group of women put their faces together whilst covered in sticky film, the vid was shot entirely on an iPhone.

ColoRising Mixes 23: Maja Skillz

Mari Nordén aka Maja Skillz can be classified into many categories but at the end of the day, she is an all-around creative. The Olso-based singer, producer, artist and designer, who has morphed the sound of pop, electronica, trap and more, is creating truly exciting and brilliant music. Having been a part of the band Shy For Shore, her latest project finds her experimenting with vocal styles and textures like brush strokes on the palette, forming vivid pieces of fine art. The latest Maja Skillz release ‘FALL APRT’, is a documentation of a relationship gone awry, yet musically decorated with beautiful sonics of alt-pop, lush and rich. Expect a tidal wave of artistry in 2016 from the Norwegian mastermind.
