On the New York side of things, Brooklyn band Sharkmuffin have been dropping a load of excellent punk, noise and garage rock tracks for a number of years. Their 2013 debut EP 'She-Gods of Champagne Valley' was an energetic marathon of raw and in your face garage that was jumping with force and attitude. That same year they also dropped the '1097' EP. 2015 saw the release of Sharkmuffin's debut LP 'Chartreuse', further imprinting their core sound which featured a modern day punk fury mixed with classic elements of the genre.
The art of improvisation has been one of the staples of jazz music. It is the feeling of the moment that many musicians have tapped into releasing a sound that often times have resulted in something spiritual. Whilst these days music tends to be overly structured and glistening with sonic perfection, Swiss band UFO have challenged the idea of conventionalism with their new album 'III'.

Last year Multi-instrumentalist Zak Starkey of Oasis and The Who, and singer Sshh Liguz revealed their track 'Trouble' under the group name SSHH. The pumped-up post-punk/noise cut was truly an amplifying gem and now the two return with the first taste of their forthcoming album 'ISSUES', a collection of covers which feature some of the original band members from the original songs. Some of those include musicians from Sex Pistol's, Amy Winhouse's band, Oasis and more.

Punk will never die...the authentic punk that is, especially when bands like London's Dream Nails exist. The group's music is like an awakening alarm of urgency speaking out against the ills of society with a sonic rage as the palette. Appropriately titling their debut EP 'DIY', that spirit runs deep in the four members as they even released a zine to coincide with the record. Their sound is loud, fast and hits with a punch like an uppercut to the face. Singing messages of empowerment, the self-proclaimed 'feminist punk witches from hell' are as core as they come, raw and uncut, and you can best believe they are utterly proud of it.

Singer, musician and composer Sofia Härdig is considered to be one of the leading acts coming out of Sweden with a sound organic and raw, explosively bursting out of the seams with energy. No stranger to the music industry, Härdig has worked with the likes of Sonic Youth's Kim Gordon and Julia Crafitz of Pussy Galore, not to mention Grammy Award winning group The Hellacopters and more. In a sense the Swedish artist reflects the very idea of what a true rock star looks, feels and sounds like. Whilst her native country has maintained a tradition of pumping out pop acts, Härdig's music is experimental, racing, unafraid and unapologetic. Her visuals are performance art, something that was a staple in New York's East Village punk and new wave scene or West Berlin in the 70s and 80s.
