After giving a glimpse of their song 'Turn Up The Volumes' earlier this month, Montreal-based duo Thus Owl now share the title track to their forthcoming EP 'Black Matter'. Dark and rowling, the track screams out with haunting guitar riffs, with the band adding a bit of noise in the mix which hits you like a punch to the jaw.
Montreal duo who are now based in Barcelona, Blonde:ish, share their latest song 'Jupiter & Jaguar 'Welcome To The Present'. Taken from their upcoming album Welcome To The Future, the track is extra dark and deep, probably one that you will hear in the wee hours of the morning as the party settles and the night begins to be greeted by the morning light. Upon first listening to Montreal group Thus Owl's new single 'Turn Up The Volumes', you're quickly caught in the clutches of what sounds more like an epic, cinematic journey than simply an alternative recording. From the jump, scattering synths lash around you, as the vocals Erika Angell are accompanied by haunting strings and a thumping bass line. Thus Owls have surely figured out the idea of knowing when to scale back for space and slowly filling the surroundings with sounds that completely keeps you wondering what's about to happen next. Montreal's Emilie Kahn has announced details regarding her debut album '10 000', under her music project Emilie & Ogden. The LP is set to get released November 20th via Secret City Records. Having wrote all the music in the initial stages of the forthcoming LP, Kahn then worked with producer Jesse Mac Cormack and drummer Francis Ledoux to add the final touches. '10 000' consists of eleven tracks in total, with the previously released songs 'Babel' and 'Long Gone' both reworked. Emilie Kahn recently shared the video to her single 'What Happened', which you can check it out below.
