Liverpool clubnight 303 has caused quite a stir in their city, bringing the likes of Andrew
Weatherall, Dave Clarke, Daniel Avery and Slam to the scouse rave stronghold over the past few years. After selling out Manchester’s Joshua Brooks with techno tyrant Surgeon in September 2015 and following that with Slam in February, they’re now setting up shop a few miles down the M62 on a permanent basis this summer with the launch of sister project 909.
Much like 303 the emphasis is on established artists who have a part to play in all three eras
of dance music, the past, present and future. They’ll be taking over revered Mancunian dance Mecca Hidden for their first instalment, enlisting the talents of mercurial techno stalwarts Pig & Dan for the headline role.
Apologies never sounded so grooving, as with the case of Francis Lung's latest single 'Dance 4 Sorrow'. Taken from his forthcoming EP 'Mother's Son', Lung employs a danceable indie pop silhouette which slighly incorporates traces of 80s new wave. The song finds Lung (Tom McClung) expanding past the sound he created with his former band WU LYF. Below is a stream of 'Dance 4 Sorrow'.
Francis Lung have also embarked on a number of shows around the UK. Check out the listings for dates and cities down at the bottom.
