Having been in the music business at this point for 13 years, it's hard to believe that Bedford producer Lil Silva is only now releasing his debut album. Having worked with Adele, Mark Ronson, Sampha, and Banks, just to name a few, Lil Silva will finally drop his LP 'Yesterday Is Heavy' on July 15th.
One hand it feels like yesterday that the sound of UK Funky was blaring throughout the streets of England, yet on the other hand it feels like ages ago. One of the producers who was able to not only thrive in that scene but push forward into other styles and genres is Lil Silva. The Bedford producer not only created some of the hottest sounds in UK Funky, but went on to produce for the likes of Adele, Banks, and more.
Lil Silva has come along way since the days of UK Funky. Having taken his sound to new levels, the producer has shared the official video to his song 'De Ja', taken from his 'JIMI' EP. Directed by Matt Halsall, scenes of a guy going mental in what looks like a futuristic asylum is the focus. Eventually the mad man goes even more into bizarre mode as he tries to bite off his arm before aiming a gun at the nurse coming to give him an injection. Can anyone say "dark"? Have a look.
