No stranger to the Fabric brand, producer Mumdance steps up to mix the new Fabriclive 80 compilation. Out March 16th, the selection reflects Mumdance's firmly planted reputation of exploring experimental, cutting edge and bass heavy electronica. Running 27 tracks in total, many of the tracks are exclusive to the compilation. From UK garage to grime, artists featured include Pinch, Logos, Jon E Cash, as well as a Mumdance collaboration track with Novelist.
We are happy to announce grime pioneer Slimzee will be joining the OiOi line up alongside Preditah, Mumdance & Wen on Fri 6th Feb. Having been influential in the development of grime and hosting radio shows on Rinse FM back when it was a pirate radio station some 14 years ago, Slimzee is on another level, and after a recent Boiler Room documentary highlighting his presence in the grime scene, the dubplate king is guaranteed to impress. On top of the stellar selection of DJ’s we are joined by two Roll Deep MC's, Riko Dan and Flowdan who will with no doubt bring their patois ridden flow and ridiculous levels of hype to the table.
The standard bearers of grime, Butterz, return to Room One once again this January, bringing with them another one of their heroes, Kano. After making a fleeting appearance at one of their shows here last year, he’s returning to headline and will do so atop a bill that features Elijah & Skilliam, Swindle, the influential DJ, Spyro and Gobstopper boss, Mr Mitch (who’s still fresh from the release of his debut album, Parallel Memories, on Planet Mu).
Boxing Day, with its cold turkey, turnips and telly, is an age-old institution ripe for disrupting. That’s why Rinse FM are proud to announce they are returning to fabric on December 26th to shake up any soporific headz and really make raving on this day of the year a recognised institution.
