Gothenburg-based producer Oliver Knowles better known as The Keep has unveiled his latest track 'Through Portals'. The single is taken from Knowles' new EP 'Andra'. What begins with a simply menacing synth line and drums, the open tune eventually builds up into quite a blissful slice of melodic electronica.
Gothenburg artist sir Was has shared the video to his latest single 'The Sun Will Shine', which is taken from his upcoming LP 'Holding On To A Dream', out September 20th. Directed by Damien Priest and sir Was himself, the Swedish singer finds himself sitting in a car with men wearing lucha libre masks. What happens next is, well, sir Was ends up performing the track whilst standing on the roof of the car with the other men frantically dancing around the vehicle. Now mind you, the song is so grooving that you can hardly blame them. We would dance around the car as well. Have a look.
Having written for artists such as Steve Angello, as well as worked with Skip Marley, Sweden's Nadia Nair has shared her latest single 'K', which gives a slight taste of what we can possibly expect from her upcoming album. Moody and emotive, the track's usage of bouncy, head-nodding drums to off-set the melancholic strings and deep, bass punch-ins, works incredibly well as Nair's unique vocal delivery ties everything together. 'K' is currently out now. Have a listen.
Anna Von Hausswolff returns with her new single 'The Truth, The Glow, The Fall', taken from her upcoming fourth LP 'Dead Magic', out March 2nd on City Slang. With the song running literally over 12 minutes, Hausswolff delivers a hauntingly surreal slice of audible cinema, which on the surface could feel like patches of melancholy yet when simply absorbed in its magic, is utter beauty. Completely breath-taking, Anna Von Hausswolff has yet again created something masterful and enticing.
Gothenburg-based artist Anna von Hausswolff will release her fourth LP 'Dead Magic' on March 2nd via the City Sland imprint. Setting the tone of what's to come, she has unveiled her new single 'The Mysterious Vanishing of Electra'. Hitting with post-apocalyptic and haunting sonics, von Hausswolff's in your face vocal delivery is instantly commanding and chilling in the same breath. 'The Mysterious Vanishing of Electra' is quite the treat.
We have simply stopped trying to come up with some intellectual reasoning as to why Sweden continues to rule the pop landscape. With that being said, Gothenburg's Mira Aasma has shared a new song titled 'Snow White Wedding'. Take powerful drums with echoing snares combined with multi-back vocals and Aasma's angelic voice and the result is one epic single that defies the traditional pop record, yet etches enough room to fill the space. 'Snow White Wedding' is taken from her upcoming LP in which she also produced and wrote.
Swedish band Honeymoon Disease released their album 'The Transcendence' back in 2015 which found the band sparking a sound dripping in 70s rock. With a 7" record entitled 'Electric Eel' forthcoming in May, the band have shared the b-side cut which is a cover of the classic Eddie Floyd 'Big Bird'. Powered by no rills rock & roll pumping with streaking guitar liners, a shaking tambourine and thundering drum hits, Honeymoon Disease surely didn't disappoint in one shape or fasion with this killer version. Have a listen.
