For their latest single 'Lord Of The Manor', Benin City continue to push sonic boundaries whilst delivering thought-provoking lyrics shining a spotlight on a young working class Londoner. Produced by James Greenwood, the husky production encompasses rumbling bass liners topped with slight distortion on the vocals of Joshua Idehen and Shanaz Dorsett.
On paper, the thought of fusing industrial, post-punk and dance with Balearic influences could seem a bit suspect. However, London-based band Two Tribes have managed to pull it off with there latest single 'Videodrone'. The song follows their previously released track 'Zone'. Drawing inspiration from not only an early 80s synth palette, 90s rave is also embedded in the production that is ethereal and quite blissful. A fire hot package, the record embodies the sounds of grime, spacey drum and bass, bouncy R&B, as well Hip-Hop. A compliment to the silky original version, which was shared last month, this handing comes after Shenie Fogo's previous cuts 'Mood' and '4 AM'.
Pop icon Madonna addresses the issue of gun violence in her video 'God Control'. Directed by Jonas Åkerlund, Madonna plays the role of a writer typing a story revolving around a glamour and glitzy, 70s era New York City night club that is eventually the target ground for a brutal attack, leaving multiple people dead. There is also a moment in the video where Madonna is held up outside at gun point.
Barcelona's Museless examines the dynamics between the Catholic church and sexual relations in her latest single 'El Catolicismo'. Whilst tackling a dicey topic, the Spanish artist continues to incorporate a dance element into the production, something that was present in her previous cut 'Anonymous'.
Gorgon City have unveiled the video for their single 'Delicious'. The visuals feature a couple completely going at it with kissing and licking faces whilst other clips feature a woman dancing to the track. There are also subtle references to things that people may indeed find delicious such as coffee...and well, other stimulants. The track itself is currently out now via Gorgon City's REALM imprint. Spanish artist Museless has unveiled the video to her single 'Anonymous'. The Laura Martinova-directed vid features Museless driving around in an old convertible Cadillac whilst people in full body suits dance on the streets. There is even a horse running about. Ultimately she ends up meeting a guy with a painted face, resulting in a loving ending.
London vocalist Roses Gabor has dropped her massive new single 'Turkish Delight'. Whilst the powerhouse artist has been known to straddle a gamut of various musical styles, her latest work is a future house cut that is deep, soulful and more than likely going to set everything from radio to the clubs on fire. Produced by Fred Ball, the track is taken from her upcoming LP 'Fantasy and Facts'.
