ColoRising Interview with Moodbay

Moodbay is the dynamic band consisting of singer Anna Stephens and producer Alfie Cattell. Both also respective songwriters, the pair's sound, also known as 'moodpop', is a luscious blend of pop, R&B, club and electronica, erupting with flair and unstoppable grooves. The Manchester-based group's style is a result of their love of diverse music harking back to each of their earlier years. Raised in Darlington, Anna Stephens also lived in Paris, absorbing the wonders of the city, which would also play a factor in the development of her writing. Alfie Cattell, raised in Wales, grew up playing piano and would later become a skilled producer.

For their latest single 'Lord Of The Manor', Benin City continue to push sonic boundaries whilst delivering thought-provoking lyrics shining a spotlight on a young working class Londoner. Produced by James Greenwood, the husky production encompasses rumbling bass liners topped with slight distortion on the vocals of Joshua Idehen and Shanaz Dorsett.

With a new album slated to drop this summer, ZAMILSKA has unveiled her latest track entitled 'Hollow'. Pulsing with driving low end, skittering effects and ghostly vocals, the song is dark, bold and utterly punchy.

Scratch Massive Release ‘Fantome X’ EP

Parisian group Scratch Massive have dropped their 'Fantome X' EP. The original song is taken from their current LP 'Garden of Love', released back in 2018. The new EP features a haunting, industrial meets techno remix courtesy of French producer and label owner UMWELT. Rising Parisian producer Sentimental Rave also contributes a nocturnal techno rework that is broad, thunderous and impacting.

Virgil Abloh & Boys Noize Release Exclusive ‘ORVNGE’ Vinyl EP

Fashion designer, creative director and DJ Virgil Abloah and Boys Noize have yet again teamed up for the exclusive vinyl 12" EP 'ORVNGE'. Comprised of three tracks in total, the electronic project was recorded in Berlin and will be available at various record stores, online and at Abloh's Off-White stores. The pair began recording music last year whilst working simultaneously on their Off-White MAYDAY clothing collaboration.
