Mamalarky have announced the release of their forthcoming album 'Pocket Fantasy'. The record is set to land September 30th via Fire Talk. Recorded in a rented home in Atlanta, sonically the LP is stated to be a fun and happier reflection of life.
Nashville-based siblings Larkin Poe are set to drop their new album 'Blood Harmony' on November 11th via the pair's Tricki-Woo Records. The LP will released digitally as well as limited edition magenta vinyl, CD and cassette.
Dungeon Family alumni and one half of Run The Jewels member Killer Mike releases a new solo track called 'RUN', which features Young Thug, as well as an intro by Dave Chapelle. The song is produced by none other than No I.D..
It's always a good day whenever siblings Larkin Poe release new music. It's even better when the pair announce news on an upcoming LP. Well that's exactly the case today. The Atlanta-raised, Nashville-based band are slated to drop their sixth album titled 'Blood Harmony' on November 11th via their imprint Tricki-Woo Records.
Sheffield duo Snakehips have joined forces with Atlanta Hip-Hop group EARTHGANG for a silky house-driven single titled 'Run It Up'. An absolute mesmeric release, glistening keys and throbbing 4x4 kicks gel perfectly with EARTHGANG's fluid delivery. Whilst EARTHGANG have built a reputation for their unorthodox approach to Hip-Hop cuts, they sound amazing over soulful house production.
Virginia-born, Atlanta-based singer Lady Wray has the kind of voice that you feel in your soul. Having released her single pack 'Piece Of Me' b/w 'Come On In' last year, she returns with her latest offering titled 'Storms'.
Atlanta's Halogen have returned with a hot house cut entitled 'The Reason'. Enlisting Kelli-Leigh to provide the vocals, the track is built on spacey synth stabs, kicking 4x4 drums and echoing claps. A certified dance floor burner, 'The Reason' is that summer anthem that makes us wish the clubs were currently open.
With their upcoming album 'SELF MADE MAN' dropping June 12th on Trick-Woo Records, rock & roll sisters Larkin Poe pay homage to their Georgia roots in their new single 'Back Down South' featuring Tyler Bryant. Musically the instrumentation is composed of twangy guitar lines, gospel style organ play and echoing claps, drawing influence from a blues rock blueprint.
Whenever Killer Mike and El-P aka Run The Jewels drop anything it's always a good day. Having previously shared the track 'Ooh LA LA' featuring Nice & Smooth's Greg Nice and Hip-Hop production king DJ Premiere, RTJ have now dropped the official video. The visuals are legendary in themselves considering that not only is this one big street party what appears to be a celebration of the ending of capitalism, but you can also catch a cameo by the one and only Zack De La Rocha. Factor in Greg Nice and Preemo also appearing in the video as well as a whole heap of people dancing, this is possibly what it may look like when the coronavirus lock down is finally over! 'Ooh LA LA' is directed by Brian and Vanessa Beletic, with El-P being the co-creative.
Philly producer Marshmello and Atlanta's trap king Southside come together for the song and video 'Been Thru This Before'. If the collab wasn't enough, they also enlisted the landlord himself, London rapper Giggs and Brooklyn's SAINt JHN to add their vocal touches to the bass-shaking tune. The video is directed by Myles Whittingham and features SAINt JHN and Giggs outside a cabin in the woods whilst surrounded by beautiful women. There is a scene where some of the women are stirring some weird green concoction, perhaps some elixir of sorts. Never the less you can peep the vid down at the bottom.
