NYC-based band Psychobuildings released their LP 'Love World' back in 2014, which followed their 'Hearts' and self-titled EPs. Since that time they have gone on to pump out a number of fantastic post-punk, new wave and art pop-inspired singles. Psychobuildings have now shared their latest track 'M'lia'. Meshing together 80s pop and early new wave, the tune is built on sensual synth lines and thumping drum kicks which spark a feeling of nostalgia as the lyrics are an ode to the love of that special someone.
Hailing from Switzerland is the band Kush K, whose sound is a perfect marriage of hazy indie, post-punk, psychedelic, 60s pop and more. The four-piece will release their new album 'Lotophagi' on April 24th. 'Lotophagi', which translates to Lotus-eaters (the group of island people in which by Ulysses came across during his travels), is a collection of tracks recorded throughout a span of late night sessions, many of the tunes done in single takes.
Margate artist BABii steps up with the visual treatment to her track 'SNAKE', taken from her forthcoming EP 'iii', slated for release on March 27th. Directed by BABii herself, the video finds the singer stargazing as well as playing drum pads on the side of the motorway. Flickering neon signs flash various symbols, adding to the futuristic/dystopian feel.
London-based artist Valentina contributed vocals to the Kano and track 'Got My Brandy, Got My Beats', taken from his 2019 'Hoodies All Summer' LP, not to mention sang and wrote on Joe Goddard's 2012 cut 'Gabriel'. Now back working on her solo material, the Italian-born singer has unveiled her latest tune 'You Know Where My Happiness Went'.
Athens artist Sarah P. has released a double single pack titled 'Plotting Revelations II' which features the songs 'Athena' and 'The Poem of a Clean Conscience'. Both songs are taken from her forthcoming LP 'Plotting Revelations'. 'Athena' is an upbeat and dance-powered splash of cosmic disco stacked with luscious production whilst 'The Poem of a Clean Conscience' highlights Sarah P.'s vivid songwriting and storytelling ability painted over a shimmering pop palette.
Having already gained previous support by the likes of BBC Radio 1's Huw Stephens, Brighton band Zooni have now shared their new single 'Dissolve'. A dreamy blend of indie and art pop, the song is constructed with lush keys, upbeat drum kicks and plucky guitar riffs, making for an atmospheric listening experience.
Sean Bowie aka Yves Tumor is set to release his new album 'Heaven To A Tortured Mind' on April 3rd via Warp. With that being said, Bowie has also shared the video to his single 'Gospel For A New Century'. Whilst the song is a funky and head-swaying blast of electronic soul, the Isamaya Ffrench-directed visuals lean more on the darker side with Yves Tumor performing the cut whilst dressed like a devil.
Liam Brown, notoriously known as Pizzagirl, makes his return with a new track titled 'cape canaveral'. The song rapidly follows his 2019 LP 'first timer'. For this offering, Brown crafts a funky blend of new wave, post-punk and art-pop.
The mysterious duo Lee Bowie have unveiled their latest track 'Tubes'. Musically creating a web of theatrical art pop, the song delves into the subject of a love given that isn't reciprocated by the other party. Upbeat in rhythm, the song will be featured on Lee Bowie's forthcoming LP, scheduled to drop later this year.
Australia-based artist Bonniesongs taps into minimalism at its finest with her latest single 'Coo Coo'. Consisting of a repeating guitar riff and a simple 4x4 drum kick, Bonniesongs uses multi-vocals to fill in the open gaps of the track.
