Jazz vocalist and songwriter Zara McFarlane gets the remix treatment by producer Swindle, who is known for his cosmic funk/grime integration. While the funk sound is present in this rework, Swindle has slowed down the BPM and added a soul swing which fits perfectly with McFarlane’s beautiful voice. “Open Heart” is out digitally April 28 on Gilles Peterson’s Brownswood Recordings.
