South London artist Quinn Oulton has shared his new single ‘Royalty’, out now on DeepMatter Records. Written during his time in lockdown, the song touches on the transitions of a relationship and how it affects one over time. Musically the tune is a spacey and jazzy electronic meets art pop handing powered by slow-pounding drum programming, horns and hazy synths that coexist brilliantly. ‘Royalty’ is the follow-up to Oulton’s previously cut ‘Sober’.
Detailing the track, Quinn Oulton said:
“Until writing this song, I had a total mental block around writing a love song. I wanted to break the preconception I had of them being over the top and dramatic by default. Royalty is a very real and honest representation of how a relationship grows over time, in a way that feels totally unique and separate from the rest of your reality.”
