London-based artist Martha Skye Murphy has unveiled her new single ‘Stuck’, taken from her upcoming LP Concrete, which will land on Practise Music. Haunting in sound, the initial minimalist production slowly eases from spacious and atmospheric into an almost air-gripping soundscape that is utterly clutching. Murphy’s ghostly delivery adds more of an eerie feel with multi-vocals towards the end being quite chilling. ‘Stuck’ follows her previously released single ‘Found Out’, which dropped back in June.
Regarding the song, Martha Skye Murphy said:
“Stuck explores online relationships. I wanted to write a song that was triumphant and uplifting despite its subject matter, like an apology after a fallout; a lizard losing its tail to escape its prey, a euthanasia coaster… to create the feeling of spinning endlessly and the euphoria of dizziness as the subconscious mind anticipates nausea.”
